Niña

Our little mamazorca is getting bigger and bigger every day, and each one of those days she surprises us with her intelligence, imagination, and ability.

The latest surprise was for mama!

Her papito taught her how to draw a circle, eyes, a nose and a mouth, then how to add curly hair to complete a drawing of a niña. He failed to mention this drawing lesson to me;)

So the other day while she was drawing by herself she drew exactly how her papito had taught her, and then shouted “Mama, mira niña!” and when I went over to look she had drawn a little girl. I was impressed to the point of tears (happy ones of course!), and yelled for Danny to come and see his daughter’s latest creation…he said “oh yeah, I taught her a few days ago.” Regardless if I thought that at that moment she had done it herself, I’m still utterly impressed at my fast learner and her ability to remember and achieve all of the skills taught to her.

I love you Lo!

My Little Leader

We had our semester parent-teacher meeting at Lola's nursery school. Her teacher July told us wonderful things about Lola and her development.

She is one of the leaders of the class; everything she does the others follow. When she arrives she makes sure to kiss and greet everyone before she gets started on her day there, then at story time (etc.) she tells everyone to sit down in a circle and helps them all before the activity starts. Then there are times that the teacher will have an activity planned a certain and it's Lola who will think of another way of doing the activity, and teach the others her way and they all do it that way. Her teacher is impressed with the way she knows the colors, to count, animals, etc. The way Lola is talking is advanced for her age, as well as her comprehension and ability to learn new things.

At home she continues to impress us daily; with the things she says, with the things she does, with her imagination the things she creates. The other day is put three coins together, and said it was Mickey Mouse. She in currently obessed with washing the dishes or attempting to help me anyways...

I love those little moments, they are moments that last 5 seconds but will last a lifetime in my heart.

Of course being a toddler/preschooler she has some kinks to work on such as her tantrums when someone takes something away from her, etc. But when a classmate does it to another classmate she is the mediator who calmly fixes the situation so she needs to learn to do this when it's done directly to her. Which is normal at her age...I keep telling myself this;)

Regardless, I am so proud of her. She is the defintion of my happiness...as Ben Harper would say she puts the happy in my ness.

Better late than never!

My promise was to write an entry every week...I renew that promise, and will hope to keep it!!! I promise...even if it's just to post pictures of my little Lo.

Cross my heart.
